To Santa

 Dear Santa,

I have been extremely naughty this year. I have been hitting my little sister-Irene, not listening to my parents, and have been answering back at my Mum and Dad. Help me to be nice. I would like purple slime, yellow slime, pink slime, and Head-bands. I would like a pencil-case, cute gel pens, ten containers of slime that glow in the dark and a book-pad.

I promise that I will be nice to everyone, especially my friends, my little sister and my Mum and Dad, in 2021 and for the rest of my life.

This morning me and Helina shared our science presentation called Making a Lava Lamp.
Helina and I took it in turns to share our results and Conclusion in class. I learnt that the oil and water does not mix due to molecular polarity.

Today we made Orange Fizz. it was good Experiment (But it tastes weird). But the Experiment was so good. 

Water Care recount

Hook 

“Wow” a lady called Sarah from Water Care came to educate us on the process of water. She showed images of how wastewater was treated in the past. There was a black and white image of  a hotel on Queens Street. There was a river next to the hotel. The guests had bed pans under their beds. The chambermaids were made to carry the bedpans and throw the sewage into the river. 

Sarah showed us manholes. Inside the manhole was where your sewage travelled. Sarah showed us how wastewater is treated. 

The stormwater (outside drains) does not get treated. If chemicals are poured down the outside drains they would go into the ocean and would kill all the fish and plants. That's why it’s important not to use chemicals near the storm water drains.

During the lesson we went outside for an experiment

Sarah divided us into 3 groups. We used black boards, fake rocks and white plastic sheet and watering cans. At first we put the black board on the ground, then we used fake rocks to build a Mountain. After this we put the white sheet on the top. We poured water on top to see how many rivers and streams would be made. We guessed 4 or 5 rivers but there were a lot of rivers and streams.

It was so much fun! I learnt lots of new information. I would hate to be a chambermaid back in the olden days, throwing pees and poops in rivers. I am glad that I am living in the present. I am glad that I am in a country that has safe drinking water. I hope that the water treatment plant continues to operate and that people can save twenty litres of water a day.

In Auckland there’s not enough rain to fill the dams up. A dam blocks the flow of water in rivers and streams. It must pass over, through or around a barrier. Dams are built across streams, rivers and estuaries. The purposes of dams are to give electric power, retain water and to prevent areas from flooding. Water Care operates 14 supply reservoirs. Five are in the Waitakere Ranges, four are in Helensville and 2 reservoirs located
Hunua Ranges.

Fruit of the holy spirit kindness

This is my fruit of the holy spirit is a strawberry. My word is Kindness.   

Recipe for Cup Cake

Cup Cakes

Ingredients
125g butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla essence
½ cup Chelsea caster sugar
2 eggs
1 cup Edmonds standard flour
2 tsp Edmonds baking powder
¼ cup Meadow Fresh milk

Method a
Preheat the oven to 190ºC. Put 12 paper cupcake cases into a standard 12-hole muffin tin.
Cream the butter, vanilla essence and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift the flour and baking powder together and fold gently into the creamed mixture. Lastly stir in the milk.
Spoon the mixture into the paper cases and bake for 15 minutes or until the cakes spring back when lightly touched. Transfer to a wire rack to cool and then ice and decorate as you wish.

My Pinky Doll

My pinky doll               

                       I have had this doll since I was born in 2009.

Her name is Pinky. 

I love this doll because she has beautiful eyes, clothing and a pink bow in her hair.

This doll has been to India, Singapore, and New Zealand. When I am sad the doll will always be in my hands forever, teardrops will fall on my Pinky.   

Swimming Recount

Hook I was so excited to float on my back 

I couldn’t believe how cold it was in the Dean Greenwood swimming pool.
Instructor Ethan said to dip our heads in the water. We dived under the water.
I was in lane 2 with my friends Koloa, Trelia, Alexus, Rosina, Rocio, Lyrissa,
Deakin and Ken.F. We did streamline kicking and running in the water.
It was so much fun in the pool. My favourite time going swimming was the
streamline kicking. l changed out of my togs into my uniform.
We lined up ready to go to the bus.
Sometimes the bus came late and we had to wait.

Duffy Theatre recount

I went to a Duffy Theatre. I was really lucky to see the Duffy show. The show had three characters. One girl and two boys. There was a Corgan called Millie who was one third chicken, one third dog and one third cat. Millie kept doing giant poops. At the end Millie ran away. We were so worried about her. After that we sang a song. The song really helped us make her come. Me and my class said goodbye to the characters and they said the same to us.

I really liked the show because of characters.
